A few months ago, one of the most exciting collaborations in Norway emerged, consisting of Enslaved’s Ivar Bjørnson and Wardruna’s Einar Selvik who gave birth to Skuggsjá. The collaboration was conceived as a commissioned musical work written by both musicians as a concert piece in commemoration of the 200th anniversary of the Norwegian constitution at the Eidsivablot festival in Eidsvoll, Norway on September 13th, 2014.

Shortly after this premiere, Skuggsjá was announced as one of the headliners of the 20th edition of Roadburn Festival 2015. That’s when the band decided to go full out and signed a deal with Season of Mist to release their debut album this coming March 11th and we can hear the first track off it “Vitkispá above.

Black Metal enthusiast from Los Angeles who thought was a good idea to grab a camera and shoot underground shows for the hell of it. Pseudo-writer with little to no expectations of ever winning a Pulitzer but totally down to write about your unknown band if it's good to my ears. I enjoy long walks on the beach, deep conversation, holding hands and attending Satanic music shows every now and then.
