Surely, you are familiar with the post-metal genre, with bands like Neurosis or Cult of Luna and you also know how great it can be if done right and, gladly, that’s what we have for you this time and it happens to be from the bloodiest band in the Chicago area.

Bloodiest is one of those bands that combine a whole array of genres like sludge, post rock, and post metal to create something unique and eye-catching and they announced the release of their sophomore self-titled album via Relapse Record this coming January. Why should you care about this band, you may ask? Aside from the fact that they’ve been around for a good 8 years already, the band is formed by seasoned musicians: Bruce Lamont (Corrections House, Yakuza), guitarists Tony Lazzara (ex-Atombombpocketknife) and Eric Chaleff (ex-Sterling), bassist Colin DeKuiper (ex-Russian Circles), drummer Cayce Key ( ex-90 Day Men). and pianist/keyboardist Nandini Khaund.

Check out their newest track “Mesmerize,” which premiered today on Noisey, to have a taste of what you can expect from this album and, hopefully, you pre-order the album here or here.

Black Metal enthusiast from Los Angeles who thought was a good idea to grab a camera and shoot underground shows for the hell of it. Pseudo-writer with little to no expectations of ever winning a Pulitzer but totally down to write about your unknown band if it's good to my ears. I enjoy long walks on the beach, deep conversation, holding hands and attending Satanic music shows every now and then.
