We’re looking forward to the debut album from Black Map based on the band’s lineage alone. The art-rock of dredg in the early ‘2000s combined with Far’s melodic post-hardcore was a nice counterbalance to the heavy music that was out at the time. Featuring members of each band (dredg’s guitarist Mark Engles and Far’s drummer Chris Robyn) and Trophy Fire’s Ben Flanagan, Black Map have their debut album, …And We Explode, coming on on October 28 on Minus Head Records, and it definitely hits the sweet spot between all of those bands and the melodic alt-rock of Failure, and we dig it. Punknews.org just premiered a song called “Chinasky: and it’s a good one. Check it out below.
