If You Love The 90s, You Won’t Hate The New Cypress Hill Song

Posted by on April 12, 2010

“Rise Up,” the new single from Cypress Hill, isn’t reinventing the wheel. In fact, it’s a straight up rap rock song. Written by Rage Against The Machine’s Tom Morello, it pretty much sounds like a lost Rage song with B. Real and Sen Dig spitting rhymes instead of Zach de la Rocha. That said, if you’re ok with Cypress Hill and Rage, you’ll probably enjoy this, or at least feel a twinge of nostalgia. Cypress Hill will be joined by Morello, System of a Down drummer John Dolmayan and Deftones/Quicksand bassist Sergio Vega for a performance of the song on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Monday, April 19.
