Austin D’Amond, who left Chimaira back in September of 2014, is the new drummer for DevilDriver, taking the place of John Boecklin, who left the band in October.

Said D’Amond of the news:

“Thanks everyone for all the support through my career. Without you all I would’ve never made it this far. I promise to give you all one hell of a performance!!! Keep shredding peeps!!! Dreams do come true.”

Austin D’Amond, along with the rest of the band, left Chimaira in September of 2014, leaving vocalist Mark Hunter without any members (he ended the band soon after). About a month later DevilDriver guitarist Jeff Kendrick and drummer John Boecklin left, as vocalist Dez Fafara went back to working with his old band Coal Chamber.

Fafara, in a Facebook post, has assured DevilDriver fans that the band will be back:

“DevilDriver is on hiatus while I re join Coal Chamber for a new record release and tour. DevilDriver will be back, make no mistake of that, in 2016 with a new record which we are already writing, tours around the world and the massive pits you have all gotten used to.”
