Last month, Black Label Society reminded everyone that Zakk Wylde wasn’t the only guitarist in Black Label Society by announcing the departure of Nick Catanese. But don’t worry, now BLS has a new guitarist to shred alongside Wylde.
Black Label Society has announced the addition of Dario Lorina as rhythm guitarist. “I’m excited to officially announce that I’ve joined Zakk Wylde in Black Label Society,” Lorina states on his new gig. “I’d like to extend a sincere and heartfelt gratitude to everyone for your continued support and warm welcome. It truly means the world.”
Lorina first got his start at the age of 16 playing in Jani Lane’s solo band, but has been playing with Lizzy Borden for the past few years (in addition to releasing solo albums). Borden himself even gave the following statement after Lorina was announced as BLS’ new guitarist:
“We are extremely proud and happy for Dario Lorina on being selected as Zakk Wyld’s Black Label Society’s new guitarist. It’s been an amazing ride performing all around the world with Dario, he is a true professional and an incredible blues driven artistic guitarist adding so much to the Borden sound. Personally it was a privilege for me to have him on my left side for the last 4 years and I know Zakk, his band and their fans are going to love Dario as we all do. Dario will be missed in the Borden camp but he will always be one of us and we wish him all the luck in the world.”
It’s unclear as of now whether Lorina will be appearing on BLS’ forthcoming album (since even though Catanese was in the band for almost 15 years, the only studio albums he performed on were Shot To Hell and Order of the Black). Even though Lorina is being brought in on rhythm, he definitely can shred. Check out for yourself in the video below.
