Slash has once again confirmed that new Guns N’ Roses music is coming, revealing in a recent interview with Audacy that the band has already written a substantial amount of material for a future album. While recent singles such as “Atlas” and “Nothin'” revisited older unreleased songs from the Chinese Democracy era, Slash emphasized that the next full-length release will feature entirely new tracks, with recording expected to happen sooner rather than later.

05) Dave Mustaine hints Megadeth could perform Metallica’s “Ride The Lightning” on upcoming tour

Dave Mustaine has suggested that Megadeth may bring their version of Metallica’s “Ride The Lightning” to the stage during the band’s upcoming tour. Speaking on Trunk Nation With Eddie Trunk, Mustaine explained that revisiting the track was a meaningful experience. The song recently appeared on Megadeth’s latest and final album. When asked directly about performing the track live, Mustaine didn’t rule it out, responding with a playful “maybe.”

06) Metallica reveal marching band competition winners and launch new Dr. Martens collaboration

Metallica have announced the winners of the latest For Whom The Band Tolls! collegiate marching band competition, with the University of South Carolina taking the top prize after fan voting and judging narrowed down finalists across multiple categories. The competition challenged college marching bands to create original performances using Metallica’s catalog, with more than $165,000 in prizes, including instruments, equipment, and a special opportunity for the Division I winner to record a Metallica song and the EA SPORTS College Football theme.

In other news, the band has also partnered with Dr. Martens on a new footwear collection featuring 1460 boots and 1461 shoes inspired by the band’s classic eras. Designed with artwork from the band’s “Damage Inc.” and “Damaged Justice” tours, the limited-edition styles feature custom details, including Metallica heel studs, dog tags, and exclusive design elements.
