Druids, the Des Moines, IA-based psychedelic/stoner metal trio are getting ready for the release of their upcoming full length effort, Monument, which is scheduled to arrive this Friday (19th) via The Company KC (order here). The group have recently shared a guitar playthrough video for the song “The Whip” as well as the lyric video for their single “Mirrors of Trigon” as they’ve promised the follow-up to 2016’s Cycles of Mobeum is their most confident and explorative effort to date. Speaking of explorations, we asked the group what their top 5 underground bands from Iowa to watch out for are. Check out the list below:

05) Dryad

These Iowa City black-metal maniacs absolutely slay! Dryad busted into the scene only a couple of years ago and have done some serious damage ever since. They just announced a summer tour with Neckbeard Deathcamp, so be sure to check them out on the road!

04) Aseethe

Aseethe is a band that is constantly growing and evolving, while still staying true to their vision. Reminiscent of SUNN O)), Fister and Primitive Man, they’ve left a crater in the metal scene and we love sharing the stage with them. The band is set to release ‘Throes’ via Thrill Jockey in May.
