LOFIDELIC RECORDS:

905 Main St, Belmar, NJ 07719 • (732) 722-7882

LOFIDELIC on Main Street in Belmar is probably the only record store located on the Jersey shore. Here you’ll find a healthy selection of new and used rock, metal, jazz, funk, disco, house, techno, trance, oddball wax, 45’s, soundtracks, cassettes, unique artwork, and posters all for sale. The walls have some interesting stuff, too. Owner David is super chill and is very knowledgeable, especially in the dance/funk areas of the vinyl universe. LOFI hosts local live artists, and djs from time to time.

Live area shows and events are posted, make sure you check out all the area happenings. Listening turntable. LOFI prices are very fair and there is sometimes audio gear for sale. Inventory is always changing so check the new arrivals when you get there, you never know what will be lurking in the bins. Interesting You Tube DJs on display on the TV screen provide the smooth listening/digging vibe. Great place to dig! FOUR STARS.

CLARIZIO MUSIC:

2428 Bridge Ave #101(Music Store) & #104 (Record Store), Point Pleasant, NJ 08742 • 732-295-6644

Small, cool family run shop. Mostly stocked with new releases and reissues. There are cool $10, $20, and $30 dollar bins of used wax. You won’t find anything rare here, the wall is mostly box sets. Very little metal. Inventory changes rather slowly, so this is a place I don’t swing by too often. Dollar bins are cool and plentiful if you are willing to sit on the floor (I am not). Cool place to explore if you are new to the record collecting universe. Their Music store next door is bigger and has a great selection of instruments and gear. FOUR STARS.
