Weiland with Tommy BlackSpecifics about Scott Weiland’s death are still being pieced together. However, a few hours after news broke yesterday of the former Stone Temple Pilots/Velvet Revolver’s passing, reports started to surface that Bloomington, Minn., police found a small amount of cocaine near where Weiland’s body was discovered on his tour bus.

Further complicating matters, police also arrested Wildabouts bassist Tommy Black after discovering cocaine in his area of the bus as well. The 47 year old bassist is being held at the Bloomington Police Department for possession of a controlled substance. In addition to playing bass in Weiland’s solo band the Wildabouts, Black is also a manager at L.A. hotspot the Viper Room according to Linkedin. Weiland and Black could be seen in many photos together on Weiland’s Instagram account, including the above photo.

Weiland’s widow Jamie was quick to state that Weiland was drug free at the time of his death, though had been socially drinking. She further declared to TMZ that Weiland was “the best he has ever been”, pointing blame at someone who must’ve broken the band’s pact not to do drugs. While an official cause of death has yet to be made, Weiland’s battle with drugs has been well documented, and sadly police’s new discovery and Black’s arrest adds onto speculation.
