Metallica_-_Kill_'Em_All_coverOn this day in 1983, Metallica released their debut album, Kill ‘Em All. While the band’s style has greatly evolved since its release (for better or worse), the album remains a must have by metal fans for its raw and in-your-face thrash sound. It’s no wonder that fans freaked out when Metallica performed the album (originally titled Metal Up Your Ass) in its entirety during a surprise set at this year’s Orion. So to celebrate the 30th anniversary of its, we thought it would be nice to relive said performance.

Watch footage Metallica previously posted of them rehearsing for the Kill ‘Em All set, as well as performing “Hit The Lights” and “Phantom Lord,” below. Happy birthday Kill ‘Em All!
