In case you didn’t know, Glenn Danzig announced this past Summer that he would be performing a “Legacy” set at a quartet of dates this Fall. These career spanning performances include sets from Danzig, Samhain (featuring original members London May and Steve Zing), and Misfits (featuring ex-Misfit guitarist Doyle Von Frankenstein). The first night of these four shows kicked off in Chicago during the Riot Fest this past Friday (October 7). But fans got more than just a Samhain reunion.
During Samhain’s set, Lamb Of God frontman Randy Blythe popped up onstage and shared vocal duties with Danzig during the song “Mother Of Mercy.” Blythe posted a picture of him onstage with Samhain, as well as a few shots of him backstage with the band (including the one up top), via Twitter along with this tweet:
“I sang with Mother Of Mercy with Samhain tonight. Holy fuck. My head is still spinning.”
While video of the two performing “Mother Of Mercy” alone has yet to appear online, LouderNet has posted fan filmed footage of the entire Danzig Legacy show in Chicago on YouTube. You can watch the entire performance after the jump (Blythe comes in around the 16:16 mark).
