Chimaira has officially signed a new recording deal with eOne music, who will release their new album later this year in North America, South America and Japan. Frontman Mark Hunter had the following to say about their new label home:

“We are excited to start the new decade with a team that believes in our music, has our back and thinks outside the box. eOne are one of the very few labels out there who still give a damn about the genre and Chimaira are proud to be a part of that. Expect great things in 2011.”

Back in August, we reported that our favorite Cleveland metal group had parted ways with Ferret Music after three years and two studio albums. As for eOne, they’re already known for signing already established metal acts, including Hatebreed, Black Label Society, In Flames and Overkill, and have done pretty well for themselves and the bands. Chimaira already has a loyal fan base, so they fit in amongst eOne’s roster very well.So while Chimaira signing with eOne isn’t a huge shocker, it should serve as a good fit for them both.
