Recently, California deathcore group Carnifex announced their return from the dead…that is, their year long hiatus. Now, they are making moves to rejoin the music scene in full force, which includes signing a new deal with Nuclear Blast Records. “Signing with Nuclear Blast is a career-defining moment for Carnifex” says band vocalist Scott Lewis. “To be aligned with the largest metal label on earth is a true honor.”

However, being signed to the same record label as bands such as Behemoth and Meshuggah is not the only news for the band. A label deal of course also means a new record. The band expects to have a new album out by early 2014, which will be recorded at Audiohammer Studios with producer Mark Lewis. Mark Lewis has previously worked with bands such as The Black Dahlia Murder and Whitechapel, so the record should be pretty brutal.

Scott Lewis continues:

“Together with Nuclear Blast, you will see Carnifex like you have never seen us before. Prepare yourself for an album that crushes any and all expectations. An album that will stand as the definitive mark for modern metal.”

The band also made a lineup change with the addition of guitarist Jordan Lockrey, who will be replacing Ryan Gudmunds on lead guitar.
