A 19 year-old woman died at the Vans Warped Tour in Toronto yesterday (15), apparently during Chelsea Grin’s set. According to the Toronto Star, at around 12:40, EMS officials at the Molson Amphitheatre were alerted to the woman lying n the grass and not breathing. The woman was transported to Toronto Western hospital where she was pronounced dead. The band tweeted about it later that day:
Our hearts go out to the person who died today. We still don’t know everything that happened but it’s no time for jokes on our page.
The deceased, allegedly Taylor Nesseth of London, ON, had a Tumblr page, in which her last post was:
Hey guy! I’m at Warped in Toronto today. Dear everyone, Unless you’re meeting the queen of England or some shit, I am not jealous/nor do I care about anything you are doing at this moment. I’m having the best time of my life and idgaf about anything else but!
She was allegedly in the mosh pit during the band’s set. A look at Toronto’s weather shows that it was relatively mild yesterday, around 79 degrees, but of course it would’ve been much warmer in a pit. It’s unfortunate that this happened, yet we’ve always found that there’s water (or at least some sort of energy drink) to be had for free at the Warped Tours we’ve been to. It seems like this is just a tragic, but random incident.
