It’s been a very tough couple of days for the metal community following the passing of GWAR frontman Dave Brockie. And while it’s been hard for his many fans and has reverberated around the Richmond music scene and his countless friends in the metal community, his untimely death has hit the hardest for the other members in GWAR. Earlier today on Twitter, the band broke their silence to simply thank the band’s friends and family for their support.

It’s nice to see the band knows how beloved their leader was, and to see them bring their Twitter account out of retirement (the last update was in January) shows that they’re thinking about their fans even in this time of tragedy. It will be interesting to see how or if the band moves on in the coming days.
