Shortly before last night’s sold-out Children of Bodom, Amon Amarth, Huntress and Battlecross show in Nashville, word came that Bodom frontman Alexi Laiho had been rushed to a hospital, according to Metal Underground. No details were given on why the frontman was taken to the hospital, but the band cancelled their set for that night. Refunds were offered to those who left the show after the announcement, even though the promoter assured the other bands on the tour would play extended sets during the concert that evening. It’s odd that none of the other bands have said much of anything about last night’s cancellation. While information is scarce, Laiho did spend some time in the hospital during the Mayhem Fest due to severe stomach pains.
The tour is scheduled to play in Cleveland tonight at Peabody’s, where it’s sold out. After playing Montreal’s Heavy MTL fest this weekend, the band have the rest of August off. No word yet on whether they’ll play those two shows.
Update: We’re hearing from a publicist that “he’s fine.” Good to hear.
