It’s been a few years since Ozzfest has been in America – 2010, to be exact. But in the ’90s and 2000’s, it was the premiere metal festival. And with Ozzy and Corey Taylor having a special announcement planned for today, it didn’t take too many guesses that perhaps the Ozzfest and Knotfest might be doing something together. And while that indeed is the case, the fact that Sharon Osbourne was the person to come out and announce it was a little bizarre. So even if they’re splitting up, she’s at least got his business interests in mind.
The event, taking place on September 24th and September 25th in San Bernardino, will feature Black Sabbath headlining on the first night, with Slipknot headlining the second. The September 24th show, according to Ozzy, will be Black Sabbath’s final California show ever. TheOsbournes were joined by David Draiman, Huntress’ Jill Janus, Scott Ian, Jamey Jasta, Dave Lombardo, Zakk Wydle and Eddie Hermida of Suicide Silence. Looks like Lombardo won’t have to deal with his Slayer bandmates, since Dead Cross is playing a different night than Slayer.
