Announced for a January 2021 sailing originally, Shiprocked, like everything else this year, had an anchor dropped in their waters with what would become a global pandemic. With all that has happened in the past 14 months, it’s hard to believe that cruises will actually happen, but with the world slowly opening up, the decision has been made, and the show will float on.

Entering into its 12th sailing, starting from small, humble beginnings that saw only half a ship rocking out while grandma knit a sweater, mere feet away on the pool deck, Shiprocked has become the premiere floating concert experience.

This January 22-27, 2022 the Carnival Breeze will set sail out of Galveston, Texas, with stops in Costa Maya, and Cozumel, Mexico in the Caribbean.

Usually staterooms, are sold out long before anyone knows ANYTHING. The family, the band of misfits that have come to be known as “Shiprockers” usually book on the cruise with no prior knowledge about the sailing. Basing their decision on past sailings, and the time that was had is all that is needed to drop thousands of dollars to hang out with what may or may not be your favorite band for 5 days.

Slowly over time, announcements are made about the overall theme of the cruise, with this year being ShipRockolithic Period (aka, Prehistoric Era). Neanderthals everywhere have been waiting in their caves for today’s announcement.

Shiprocked 2022 will see multiple performances from Lamb Of God, I prevail, Steel Panther, Badflower and many more. In addition, The Stowaways (a hodge-podge of amazing artists that come together to play) will be on-board once again, with the artists to be named at a later date.

The initial lineup for Shiprocked is as follows (listed alphabetically):
10 Years, ’68, Avatar, Ayron Jones, Badflower, Blacktop Mojo, Bones U.K., Dead Poet Society, Dead Sara, From Ashes To New, He Is Legend, I Prevail, Lamb Of God, Lilith Czar, Motionless In White, Oxymorrons, P.O.D., RavenEye, Sevendust, Steel Panther, VRSTY, Wage War, Zero 9:36, plus special performance by The Stowaways, Mark Morton, and We Are The Fallen.

Chad Nicefield (lead singer of Wilson) will return, reprising his role as guest host from the 2020 sailing.
