The first wave of Riot Fest’s 2017 lineup has been announced. While the Festival is sitting out Denver this year, it will be returning to Douglas Park, Il from September 15-17. And while there will be a second wave of announced bands coming soon, the initial lineup includes quite a few more heavier bands than any other festival announced this year. Nine Inch Nails and Queens of the Stone Age will play, as weill A Day To Remember, GWAR, Prophets of Rage, Nothing More, Dead Cross, Ministry, and Andrew WK.

Of note is that Bad Brains will be playing, which must mean that H.R.  is doing well enough post-surgery to return to the stage. Also of note to emo fans is that Jawbreaker will be playing for the first time in 21 years. It’s not quite the Misfits reforming, but it might be an even bigger deal than that for the swoopy haired Friendster generation. Here’s who’s playing so far, with tickets going on sale at Noon today here.
