Well, this is a bit of a surprise. Previous news regarding this year’s edition of Mayhem Fest included the likelihood of seeing Avenged Sevenfold and Korn on the bill (with Jonathan Davis more or less confirming Korn’s participation in an interview with us). But this next announcement is unexpected: Ice-T has announced that Body Count will be playing at the festival this year. The announcement was made via Ice-T’s podcast Final Level, which you can stream below. The announcement is around the 48 minute mark. We think it’s particularly adorable that he calls it the “Metal Mayhem Tour,” but considering he probably hadn’t heard of it until about a week ago, we’ll give him a mulligan.

We also have a list of dates that have been announced for Mayhem Fest, so if you’re itching to see Body Count, Avenged Sevenfold, and Korn, you can plan ahead for your summer now. Or wait until the rest of the lineup is announced on March 31st.
