With the first day of summer happening as you read this, we want to continue with our rock and metal festival guide for you to choose what festival(s) to choose to grill yourself under the punishing sun. 17.- ProgPower USA XVII – September 7th-10th

Prog-Power 2016If you’re thing happens to be power, progressive and melodic death metal, prepare your bags and book your trip to Atlanta, GA to attend ProgPower USA. Just like the number suggests, this festival has been happening for a really long time and it brings you some of the best acts on power and progressive metal with a nice mix of melodic death in their roster. Bands like Blind Guardian, Fates Warning or Scar Symmetry will take the southern stages and you can witness it by getting tickets here.

texas mutinyOnce again, another festival produced by AEG Live just like Carolina Rebellion and Rocklahoma, Texas Mutiny Fest brings you a full day of massive bands to the biggest state of the US. If you live near Dallas-Fort Worth, TX and can’t attend any of the other festivals around the country, you can catch bands like Deftones, Chevelle and Ghost this September with 12 hrs of non-stop music. 19.-Houston Open Air – September 24th-25th.

Houston Open Air will be taking place near your area the same weekend and you can get your rock and metal fix and even more. From the same creator of Chicago Open Air, Danny Wimmer Presents, this new festival will host some of your favorite bands like Alice in Chains, Slayer, The Cult and more. 20.- The Food Truck and Rock Carnival – September 30th-October 1st

Rock Carnival 2016A festival we’re familiar with and thoroughly enjoyed, The Food Truck and Rock Carnival is the place you need to be if you live in New Jersey. You will get to enjoy amazing bands like Alice Cooper, Overkill and Blue Oyster Cult, plus the last tr-state show by glam veterans Twisted Sister who are calling it a day very soon. If you and your family want to have fun, just like we proved to you when we sent our 10 year-old correspondent to check the festival last year, getting tickets for this event is your best option.

LouderWhen one of the most prominent names in the metal festival business like Kevin Lyman gives props about your fests, it means you’re doing something better than right. Another Danny Wimmer festival that you shouldn’t miss is Louder Than Life in Louisville, KY, which brings you a good mix of the bands setting to play the entire country in the rest of the fests, plus some more like Slipknot, Korn or Alter Bridge. If you don’t have any plans for the beginning of October, make sure to get tickets for this event here.

Frost-and-Fire-2016September might be a bit crazy with all the festivals happening around the country but October doesn’t seem to be any less exciting with festivals like Frost and Fire taking place. Just a few hours away from Los Angeles, CA, Frost and Fire will take no prisoners and plans to conquer Southern California with bands like Midnight, Cirith Ungol, White Wizzard and other great representatives of the epic heavy metal genre. California Deathfest 2016If you decide to attend Frost and Fire in California, you may want to stick around for a few more days and catch California Deathfest in the north side of the state. Maryland Deathfest is one of the biggest extreme metal fests in the country so, naturally, the organizers decided to bring some of that to the west coast with a new edition of the festival in a condensed way. If you want to see Nuclear Assault, Agoraphobic Nosebleed, Angelcorse or The Ruins Of Beverast, Oakland is the city to be. Get your tickets here.

Just a week after California Deathfest, this Arizona festival will continue tearing the west apart with a monstrous lineup which includes Pig Destroyer, Nails, Saint Vitus, and Infest among many more.
