Likely inspired his recent performance for Tony La Russa, Robb Flynn announced plans to embark on a five-concert solo run to coincide with his appearance at this week’s NAMM convention in California. And last Monday night (January 21), the Machine Head frontman performed his first acoustic solo show at On The Rox in Hollywood. In addition to performing stripped down renditions of Machine Head songs, Flynn also performed a handful of covers (including Black Sabbath’s “Die Young,” System Of A Down’s “Aerials,” Alice In Chains’ “Sunshine,” and Foo Fighters’ “Everlong”). One of the highlights of the night, though, came when Flynn invited a fan in attendance to help sing “Davidian.”
Watch fan filmed footage of Flynn performing an acoustic version of “Davidian,” with help from a fan on vocals, above. More clips from the evening, as well as the remaining dates on Flynn’s mini-acoustic tour, can be seen after the jump.
