Slayer will be headlining two venues on opposite sides of the country for the first time in 25 years. The first show takes place on October 28 at the Hollywood Palladium, while the second takes place on November 27 at the Theater at Madison Square Garden. Making these two shows even more exciting is the fact that Gojira and 4ARM will be opening at both dates.
Slayer has been all over the world for the past year and a half. However, this will be the first time Slayer’s lineup of Tom Araya, Kerry King, Paul Bostaph, and Gary Holt (who continues to fill in for the late Jeff Hanneman) will be playing in NYC and L.A. Slayer and Gojira have also been confirmed to play the Fun Fun Fun Fest 2013 to be held at the Auditorium Shores in Austin, TX November 8-10. Whether more dates will be added remains to be seen, but Kerry King and Tom Araya are supposedly planning to hit the studio and record material for the long-awaited new album before these shows.
Registered Slayer Fan Club members will be receiving a special email offering them “first-access” to purchase tickets through a special pre-sale that begins tomorrow (August 6). Tickets go on sale to the public Friday, August 9 at 10 a.m. local time. If you are in the New York area, we would recommend focusing your Thanksgiving plans around seeing Slayer at the Theater at Madison Square Garden. If you’re at the Thanksgiving table without battle wounds from that show, you’re doing it wrong.
