When Refused announced they would be performing a show in San Francisco to coincide with their Coachella appearance, we immediately started praying that they’d announce at least one East Coast show. So you better believe that when a NYC date was announced yesterday, everyone in the Syndicate’s (our parent company) office went berserk with joy. In fact, we all got so carried away that we’re just getting around to writing about the good news now.

But yes, the reunited hardcore legends will indeed be playing Terminal 5 in New York City on April 23. A pre-sale to support Shirts For A Cure took place yesterday but sold out literally in a minute, and tickets have just gone on sale to the public via Ticketmaster. It’s unclear whether there will be any openers for this show, though The Hives and The Bronx are opening on the San Francisco date.

While those going to Coachella will get to see Refused AND At The Drive In (plus a lot of other great non-hardcore bands), we’d hate to be the East Coast fan traveling to Indio, CA this year just to see the Swedish hardcore band. Granted, tickets for their only East Coast date (as of now) will probably be hard to get. But like the Warfield in San Fran, it’ll be pretty awesome to see Refused in such a small setting like the 3000 capacity Terminal 5.

So hurry and look into buying tickets to Refused fourth reunion show and presumably last show before heading back to Europe for festival dates.
