Hear that sound?  That’s the sound of thousands of hardcore and punk fans booking travel to San Francisco, as it’s just been announced that Refused will be playing the Warfield in San Francisco on Wednesday, April 18th. The show will take place in between the Swedish band’s two performances at the Coachella festival, which will be taking place on April 13th and 20th. Along with the reformation of At the Drive In for the festival, pretty much anyone into punk, hardcore and emo that was 13-28 in the mid-90s heyday of both bands probably made a decision to go to Indio in April. But the relatively intimate setting of the 2250-capacity of the Warfield will be a much better vantage point to see the second show from Refused since their 11-year hiatus. To keep the punk vibe up, Refused will be bringing along their Swedish brethren in The Hives, and The Bronx will also perform. Can you scream? Why yes you can. Check out the video for “New Noise” (aka hardcore’s “Stairway to Heaven”) above.
