Metalheads in the New York/North NJ area know that 89.5 FM WSOU is more than a typical college radio station. For the past 25 years, Seton Hall University’s Pirate Radio has been a major source for metal/hard rock music in the metro area. And to celebrate their 25th anniversary, WSOU is putting together one hell of a concert.
Chimaira will be performing WSOU’s 25 Years Of Metal concert along with Unearth, Skeletonwitch, Molotov Solution and more. The show will take place on November 18 at the Starland Ballroom in Sayerville, N.J. WSOU’s General Manager Mark Maben had the following to say about the station’s anniversary celebration:
“WSOU has remained a key innovator in college radio and the New York market. As the only station of its kind in the metro area, the 25th anniversary of our active rock format is something to celebrate. WSOU has remained at the forefront of the industry since the 1950s, and we look forward to partnering with the Starland Ballroom to create a show that produces the loudest rock, just as we have been doing for 25 years.”
Tickets for WSOU’s 25 Years Of Metal show go on sale this Friday (September 23), and are only $17. More dates for Chimaira’s upcoming tour with Unearth, Skeletonwitch and Molotov Solution have been leaked, but an official announcement has yet to be made. However, it’s safe to assume that more bands will be announced for WSOU’s show.
Update: Chimaira, Unearth and Skeletonwitch’s The Jägermeister Presents Tour has been officially announced.
