GWAR opening a themed restaurant, launch crowdfunding campaign to raise funds for renovation

GWAR Bar 1While GWAR may or may not be continuing on following the death of Dave Brockie, the surviving members continue to find ways to keep Oderus Urungus’ vulgar vision alive. Hence the motivation behind GWARbar, a GWAR themed restaurant and bar in Richmond, VA.

It was announced today that GWAR would be launching a themed restaurant, a concept Brockie had spoken about before his death. GWAR has joined forces with Travis Croxton (Richmond’s restauranteur of the year 2013) to help create a restaurant reflective of GWAR’s insanity, while Michael Derks (aka BalSac the Jaws ‘o Death) will be creating the menu and cocktail. The restaurant will be in Richmond’s historic Jackson Ward, while there will also be a premiere beer garden (aka, a beer GWARden) and an expansive upper level outdoor deck with views of Abner Clay Park.

The only thing holding the restaurant’s launch this summer is funding to renovate the building. That’s why GWAR have also created an Indiegogo crowdfunding campaign to help raise money to make GWARbar a reality. Some of the perks being offered to donators include a cooking class with BalSac and a place in their “Hall Of Shame.”

Find out more about how you can help GWARbar launch this summer over at Indiegogo. In case you still need convincing that a GWAR themed restaurant should exist, check out the video below.
