A preliminary hearing has been set for July 10th for As I Lay Dying frontman Tim Lambesis, who pled not guilty to one count of solicitation of murder at his arraignment earlier today in a San Diego courtroom. Lambesis is being held on $3 million bail for allegedly plotting to hire a hit man to kill his wife, Meggan.   According to UTsandiego.com, the prosecutor had wanted him held on $20 million bail, stating that he is a flight risk and danger to the public. KFMB/SanDiego reporter Angie Lee live-tweeted the arraignment, which was packed with fans, his family and the band themselves, who were there in support of him.

We’ve learned a little more about how everything happened, according to the prosecutor. According to him, Lambesis gave the undercover agent $1,000 cash, pictures of Meggan, their gate code and the dates to kill her, telling the agent he wanted her “gone.” He also told the agent to kill her when he was with his kids so he had an alibi. Apparently, there’s an audio recording of this. Lambesis’ attorney. Los Angeles attorney Anthony Salerno, denied anything happened, stating that the singer didn’t intend to harm anyone and calling what’s happened a “scum bag snitch set up.” Salerno claims that bail is being worked on, so Lambesis might be free until July.

UPDATE: Video of Tim Lambesis’ arraignment, including prosecutor Claudia Grasso detailing the accusations against the singer, has been posted by an NBC affiliate in San Diego and can be seen below.
