Next year will mark 30 years since John Petrucci, John Myung and Mike Portnoy formed Majesty, the band that would become Dream Theater. While the band’s first album, When Dream and Day Unite, was released in 1989, it wasn’t until 1992, when their first album with James LaBrie, Images and Words was released, that the band took off. They haven’t looked back since, having released a total of 12 albums and becoming arguably the biggest prog-metal band in the world.
On July 8th, Roadrunner released the career-spanning The Studio Albums 1992-2011. A great way for a Dream Theater fan to pick up albums missing from their collection, or for a new fan to get immersed in their body of work, the box set features everything but their long out of print debut and last year’s self-titled album. Now we’re giving you a chance to win the box set, and we’ll even throw in a copy of the self-titled album! Just enter your information in the below box to be qualified. We’ll pick a winner at random on Friday, August 1st. Multiple entries will be disqualified. Sorry, this is open to U.S. residents only.
