Why should major label bands be the only ones who get love? Unsigned & Streamed is a new column where we stream a song from an unsigned band we at Metal Insider really dig.
This week, we’re excited to showcase Raleigh, NC’s Outliar. Formed in 2004, this four piece band started off performing covers of Metallica and Pantera before writing original material and finding their own style. And by the end of 2011, Outliar entered The Basement Studio and worked on their debut album Provoked To Anger with producer Jamie King (Between The Buried And Me, Wretched). On top of everything, the band was able to get none other than James Murphy (former Death and Testament guitarist)to record a guest solo on the album. Outliar’s sound combines Death Angel’s melodic thrash riffs with Lamb Of God’s aggression and groove. So without further ado, take a listen to Outliar’s “Faceless Enemy,” featuring James Murphy, in the stream below.
