As last year’s Carcass reunion proved, sometimes a long dormant band reuniting can pay off. And while At The Gates Slaughter of the Soul is a year older than Swan Song, if At the Gates were to actually record a new album, chances are the band that defined the Gothenburg metal sound would make a great album. While the band have said in the past that they wouldn’t record a new album to tarnish their own swan song, Tomas Lindberg has come around to say that he wouldn’t say “never.” No doubt that Carcass showing it could be done and done well might be influencing his decision further.
