Down definitely fits in under Dave’s criteria. Yet with Phil Anselmo’s solo album coming out, he’d more likely to tour behind that than Down. And if he toured behind his solo album, he’d probably be doing it on a smaller stage than playing with Megadeth. That being said, Down hasn’t played a large scale U.S. tour since the release of Down IV Part 1: The Purple EP, despite continuing to play foreign festival shows. If they somehow wound up deciding to join Gigantour, it would give the tour some metal cred and bring out a lot of old schoolers psyched by the prospect of seeing Pantera’s frontman along with Megadeth.
