March 07, 2025 Release Highlights:
Bob Mould, Here We Go Crazy (Granary Music):
The Hüsker Dü frontman releases his 16th solo studio effort, saying of the album in a press statement, “On the surface, this is a group of straightforward guitar pop songs. I’m refining my primary sound and style through simplicity, brevity, and clarity. Under the hood, there’s a number of contrasting themes. Control and chaos, hypervigilance and helplessness, uncertainty and unconditional love.”
Jethro Tull, Curious Ruminant (Inside Out Music):
The legendary prog rockers release their 24th album, which the band says is lyrically more personal and incorporates demos the band recorded “some years ago.”
Cryptosis, Celestial Death (Century Media):
According to their Bandcamp, the futuristic metal band’s sophomore release finds them on a “darker, heavier, more melodic and extremely cinematic journey.”
Destruction, Birth of Malice (Napalm):
The German thrash metal band’s 16th studio album adds variety and grooves to their sound while still displaying the same raw, brutal and merciless quality that has captivated fans for more than four decades.
Whitechapel, Hymns In Dissonance (Metal Blade):
The deathcore band’s ninth studio effort is a loose sequel to 2008’s This Is Exile and is described by guitarist Alex Wade as an attempt “to write our heaviest album to date. We wanted to put out something that was shockingly menacing and brutal.”
