Talk about multitasking. Coheed and Cambria’s leader Claudio Sanchez has been creating and releasing the graphic novel series “Amory Wars” via his very own publishing company Evil Ink Comics for a while now. The series is inspired by the mythical frameworks of Coheed and Cambria’s albums, the latest novel even shares the name with the band’s latest album, Year Of The Black Rainbow. The album debuted at No. 5 on the Billboard Top 200 back in 2010.

But he’s not done yet. Sanchez announced during this year’s Comic Con in San Diego that the graphic novel is going to be turned into a feature film. For this project, Sanchez will collaborate with Mark Wahlberg who, luckily, has grown out of Marky Mark’s shoes a while ago, and the production company Leverage that is responsible for some TV series including  Boardwalk Empire and Entourage. Coheed and Cambria sure seems like a band that knows how to cover areas other than “just” the things that fans have come to love them for.

Oh and by the way, Coheed and Cambria will also start touring on July 24, 2012 with none other than metal legends Iron Maiden. They’re touring in support of their upcoming sixth studio album which is set to be released this upcoming fall. Back in February, Sanchez offered an acoustic version of a new song that we will get to hear in full recorded glory a couple of months from now.

Two things are certain: this is one busy band with one extremely busy front man, and fans have a lot to look forward to.
