New & Noteworthy is Metal Insider’s weekly column highlighting some of the newest rock and metal releases coming out each week. January 17, 2025 Release Highlights:

DUNES, Land of the Blind (Ripple Music):
On their third studio effort, the stoner rockers tackle “anxiety, the passing of time, relationships and the general horrors of the outside world and what we do to avoid and cope with them” while emphasizing the hooks and choruses in those songs.

Necrodeath, Arimortis (Time To Kill):
After 40 years, the Italian metal band will call it a day with the release of their 15th and final studio album. According to their Bandcamp, the album’s title refers to the band’s end while the tracks make reference to their history.

Pigeon Pit, Crazy Arms (Ernest Jenning Record Co):
Of the country punks’ fourth studio effort, the band’s Bandcamp says, “It’s a is a melodic call to action for folks who listen to both The Weakerthans and CRASS. A night at the Ryman on slow-burn psychedelics and the dreams you choose to think out loud at sunrise. Crazy Arms is the sound of a band hitting their stride, comfortable in the chaos, letting you know you aren’t alone.”

Grave Digger, Bone Collector (Reigning Phoenix):
On their 22nd studio album, the veteran German metal band return to basics, with frontman Chris Boltendahl saying they “focused on the essentials of our sound again after many years with numerous concept albums: Concise straightforward metal songs that burn themselves into your brain stems after the first listen.”
