Metal Inside(r) Home Quarantine is Metal Insider’s new column during this time of isolation due to the COVID-19 pandemic. We asked artists five questions on what’s been keeping them busy ranging from their favorite movies, food they’ve been eating, music they’ve been listening to and more. We asked Within Temptation’s Sharon den Adel what she’s been up to as she’s been spending a lot of time working on new WT music, making apple turnovers, and more.

What have you been doing to pass time during Quarantine?

Well the normal stuff like anyone, but besides that: I’ve made a nice rock/metal workout playlist for the fans and on Spotify, Apple Music and Deezer for the fans, with bands that I like. It’s called ‘The Corona Quarantine | Sweat it out Workout’. I’ve also been busy with the complete opposite of being really healthy: I made a blog about how to make apple turnovers. Oh, and I did a Together At Home liveshow on Instagram, which we’ve uploaded on our YouTube Channel – and last but not least we’ve been very busy with the upcoming release of our new single ;-).

Have you been listening to any music or have any playlists worth checking out?

I’ve been listening to my own playlist a lot, since it contains a lot of new, cool bands I’ve recently discovered: Shinedown, Asking Alexandria, Papa Roach, Bring Me The Horizon, Yonaka, PVRIS, Nothing More & I Prevail!

A lot of people have been spending this time cooking including making their own bread, what food have you been prepping during this time?

Well, I love soup. So I’ve been really busy experimenting with recipes since that’s really something that I love to do.

In terms of entertainment, what movies, TV shows, books, or games have been keeping you busy?

Mostly: Netflix (haha!). I don’t really have time to read because I’m pretty busy with all the other stuff I’ve just mentioned. But when it comes to Netflix: ‘Texas Killing Fields’ is an awesome movie, I love thrillers. An interesting documentary is:  ‘The Innocent Project’. It’s about people that are in jail, but with little evidence for what they’ve got evicted for and most of them don’t have the money or resources to get a good lawyer.

What advice do you have for your fans in isolation during this time?

Keep your normal routine – that’s very important! And try out all the things you wanted to do but never had the time for.
