Metal Inside(r) Home Quarantine is Metal Insider’s new column during this time of isolation due to the COVID-19 pandemic. We asked artists five questions on what’s been keeping them busy ranging from their favorite movies, food they’ve been eating, music they’ve been listening to and more. We caught up with Hyborian’s Ryan Bates as he’s been lucky to still have a job.

What have you been doing to pass time during Quarantine?

I’ve actually been lucky enough to still have a job. Aside from that it’s just been boring. We’ve been taking the month of April off of having live rehearsals. Trying to be precautious but it has its limits.

Have you been listening to any music or have any playlists worth checking out?

I always listen to music.  I don’t necessarily listen to any specific playlists or anything. Just the usual I guess. A lot of Pantera, old Megadeth, old Metallica, Power Trip and some other stuff.

A lot of people have been spending this time cooking including making their own bread, what food have you been prepping during this time?

 Uncrustables is all I got.

In terms of entertainment, what movies, TV shows, books, or games have been keeping you busy?

I don’t watch a lot of movies or tv really. I’ll watch documentaries on YouTube or Netflix sometimes or have the news on in the background. I’ve been working on building a new pedal and some other projects I’ve been wanting to get to for awhile and Riffs. Jammin on riffs.

What advice do you have for your fans in isolation during this time?

Be smart and stay safe! The sooner we get this dumbass virus situation under control, the sooner we can all get back to partying and going to shows again.
