Metal Inside(r) Home Quarantine is Metal Insider’s new column during this time of isolation due to the COVID-19 pandemic. We asked artists five questions on what’s been keeping them busy ranging from their favorite movies, food they’ve been eating, music they’ve been listening to and more. We caught up with Currents frontman Brian Wille as he’s been spending this time eating candy and watching Dragula with his girlfriend.

What have you been doing to pass time during Quarantine?

I’ve mostly been spending Quarantine sitting at home, eating candy, playing Warzone and watching Dragula with my girlfriend! Other than that, we just rented a dumpster here at the house and we’re tearing apart our downstairs living room for some light renovation!

Have you been listening to any music or have any playlists worth checking out?

I’ve been jamming a lot of Secret & Whisper, Captives & The Contortionist lately. I also listen to a lot of Balmorhea in the background while I’m working upstairs at my desk. Spotify has been killing it lately with their curated playlists so I recommend taking a deep dive into a genre you like & finding some new bands to listen to on there.

A lot of people have been spending this time cooking including making their own bread, what food have you been prepping during this time?

I have this huge collection of drink coasters from various bars & breweries that I’ve gathered from touring. So now with all this downtime, my girlfriend & I have decided to start casting them all in resin so that they’re more durable & last longer! I spill a lot of drinks & so now I don’t have to worry about staining any of my favorite coasters! Pretty sweet!

In terms of entertainment, what movies, TV shows, books, or games have been keeping you busy?

I’m definitely looking into more shows to watch! Explained on Netflix is always a go-to for me; the episodes are short & they’re so loaded with information. I highly recommend that one if you’re bored & stuck in between shows!

What advice do you have for your fans in isolation during this time?

The best thing to do is keep your mind occupied and focus on the aspects of your life that you can control. For some of us, this is the most downtime we’ve had in years and it’s easy to get stir-crazy. Small stay-at-home projects can be the easiest way to keep your head up! Whether it’s changing your sheets, doing some dusting or going through & rearranging some old shelves in your house. The goal is to feel like you got something done at the end of the day, no matter how small it is. Just do the next right thing!
