Metal Inside(r) Home Quarantine is Metal Insider’s new column during this time of isolation due to the COVID-19 pandemic. We asked artists five questions on what’s been keeping them busy ranging from their favorite movies, food they’ve been eating, music they’ve been listening to and more. We caught up with Steve B. and Shaun H. of Close the Hatch as they’ve been spending this time working on new music.
What have you been doing to pass time during Quarantine?
Steve B: Working on music, working on some videos for youtube, & hanging with my kid.
Shaun H: Still employed luckily so working, yard work & Bike rides.
Have you been listening to any music or have any playlists worth checking out?
Steve B: I have been listening to this odd artist named Juana Molina as well as a band called Dead Register.
Shaun H: Depeche Mode, Faith No More & Torche.
A lot of people have been spending this time cooking including making their own bread, what food have you been prepping during this time?
Steve B: Cooking steaks and chicken on the grill.
Shaun H: I cook every night always different items. Tonight it is rib eye and potatoes.
In terms of entertainment, what movies, TV shows, books, or games have been keeping you busy?
Steve B: I finished reading two books since this all began “I’ll Be Gone In The Dark” which is about the golden state killer and “How to Talk Dirty & Influence People” by Lenny Bruce. TV wise I am lost in a Forensic Files rabbit hole along with The Office. As for Movies “Finders Keeper” which is about a fella’s amputated foot super silly stuff.Killing time with GTA 5 on Xbox1 from time to time.
Shaun H: Venture Bros and The Office. board games and dance parties with the kids.
What advice do you have for your fans in isolation during this time?
Steve B: Stay busy, Stay safe, & eat whatever you want!
Shaun H: Give anything a change and keep doing the things you like/love and fuck anyone who judges you for it.
