Metal Inside(r) Home Quarantine is Metal Insider’s new column during this time of isolation due to the COVID-19 pandemic. We asked artists five questions on what’s been keeping them busy ranging from their favorite movies, food they’ve been eating, music they’ve been listening to and more. We caught up with Cell Press’ vocalist PQ as he’s been spending this time taking this pandemic seriously.

What have you been doing to pass time during Quarantine?

I’ve been taking this shit pretty seriously and I get to work from home so during non work hours I’ve just been watching alot of shows/movies, cooking, playing with my dog and smoking a fuck load of weed.

Have you been listening to any music or have any playlists worth checking out?

I’ve personally been listening to a lot of non-heavy stuff and been catching up on a lot of podcasts. I find when I am part of an active project that is heavy, If I listen to a lot of heavy stuff, it leaves me open to either consciously or subconsciously emulate something that I thought was cool. I’m not into writing music to do that, I’m in it to write original songs that come from a pure, unique place.

A lot of people have been spending this time cooking including making their own bread, what food have you been prepping during this time?

Oh definitely, im super into my crock pot, just taking a cheap piece of meat, seasoning the fuck out of it and just leaving it in that thing for a good 8 to 10 hours, if you aint been crock pottin’ youre missing out!! I live by myself so I’ve definitely been gaining tons of weight from eating so much, but whatever, I’ll just sweat it off when we get back to playing shows.

In terms of entertainment, what movies, TV shows, books, or games have been keeping you busy?

Movies wise, I love documentaries, anything to do with war, corruption, sex or sports haha. I have been rewatching a bunch of the 30 for 30’s which is such a great series, the Bad Boys one is a must for anyone who loves basketball.I’m really not into video games, I don’t own any systems except for an old Nintendo that I never play.

What advice do you have for your fans in isolation during this time?

I won’t give any of our fans advice. What I would say to them though is If you are feeling like you are in a spot that you can’t get out of, there are people that love you and need you to stick around. So please reach out to any resource that you can for help, even if i don’t know you personally, fucking reach out to me on our instagram or something, ill talk it out with you, gladly.  Nobody deserves to be in that position and mental health is something that this pandemic bullshit has just made worse. You can get through it.
