Metal Inside(r) Home Quarantine is Metal Insider’s new column during this time of isolation due to the COVID-19 pandemic. We asked artists five questions on what’s been keeping them busy ranging from their favorite movies, food they’ve been eating, music they’ve been listening to and more. We caught up with Attraction to Tragedy’s Jaiden Shay as he’s been spending this time learning Pro Tools.

What have you been doing to pass time during Quarantine?

Learning pro tools! It has completely changed our writing/arranging process. The goal is to do as much prep at home as possible so when the time comes to go back to the studio we can spend more time on capturing the sound rather than creating pieces of it. It’s been really inspiring.

Have you been listening to any music or have any playlists worth checking out?

It changes day to day. Just a few that have been getting quite a bit of play:

Conversations by Roses Are Red

Spilt Milk by Jellyfish

Sawayama by Rina Sawayama

My Poison Arms by If I Die First

Pedal To The Metal by Blessed By A Broken Heart

Hrimthursum by Necrophobic

A lot of people have been spending this time cooking including making their own bread, what food have you been prepping during this time?

My scrambled eggs have made great strides. Low in calories and effort – more time to rock.

In terms of entertainment, what movies, TV shows, books, or games have been keeping you busy?

My favorite game is looking at gear I can’t justify buying. It’s all innocent and fun until it’s 2 am and you see an original VHT Pitbull Ultra Lead and somehow the credit card appears. Thankfully my wifi cut out and my wallet was spared. As for tv shows I got caught up on Absentia. About to re-watch Dead Like Me.

What advice do you have for your fans in isolation during this time?

Take advantage of the time instead of being taken advantage by it. Also check out our new single “Hole In Your Heart”
