Metal Inside(r) Home Quarantine is Metal Insider’s new column during this time of isolation due to the COVID-19 pandemic. We asked artists five questions on what’s been keeping them busy ranging from their favorite movies, food they’ve been eating, music they’ve been listening to and more. We caught up with Alexander’s Kyle Alexander (Voices, Bass, Sub Synth) as he’s been spending this time working on new music.

What have you been doing to pass time during Quarantine?

Working on a new album by my other band ZAUM, and also the next ALEXANDER record.  Been building a new studio downtown which has been incredible.

Have you been listening to any music or have any playlists worth checking out?

MELVINS catalog always has so much to offer, also anything on the Cryo Chamber record label – the finest groundbreaking dark ambient. Flight of the Black Bat has been inspiring to sit with, check it out.

A lot of people have been spending this time cooking including making their own bread, what food have you been prepping during this time?

Building that studio as aforementioned, nothing much else other than that truly. Spending time with family and those closest to me.

In terms of entertainment, what movies, TV shows, books, or games have been keeping you busy?

Been playing a bunch of old school NES stuff, have beat Megaman 1-10 thus far. Also been notching my way back through the Zelda stuff. Not many movies but lots of docs and series, lots of true crime bizarre murderer stories – some scary shit. Been watching the Mandalorian lately of course.

What advice do you have for your fans in isolation during this time?

Get creative and expand your horizons within the realm of art!
