Metal By Numbers is a weekly column in which we look at the top metal sellers and debuts of the week.

About two weeks ago I mentioned how inclusive we are on this column. I bring this up again because I went to listen to a sample of Sleeping With Sirens’s new album out of curiosity and it sounded like someone whacked One Direction with a post-hardcore baseball bat. Not the most metal thing but, hey, there aren’t many debuts this week and we already have Falling In Reverse on here anyway. So why the hell not?

Notable Debuts:

Sleeping With Sirens, Madness (Epitatph) #6, 34,950 sold

This doesn’t manage to outdo the band’s previous album, but it’s a top 10 debut nonetheless.

Moonspell, Extinct (Napalm) 950 sold

The Portuguese metal act debuts with its eleventh studio album.

The Answer, Raise a Little Hell (Napalm) 560 sold

This is the fifth album from these Northern Irishmen.

Notable Sales:

Kid Rock, First Kiss (Warner Bros.) #23, 12,900 sold

Over 200,000 sold in week 4.

AC/DC, Rock or Bust (Columbia) #67, 3,925 sold

Rocking a 16% drop.

Falling In Reverse, Just Like You (Epitaph) #80, 3,375 sold

A 17% drop.

Red, Of Beauty and Rage (Essential) #81, 3,350 sold

Raging over a 32% drop.

Marilyn Manson, The Pale Emperor (Loma Vista) #96, 2,975 sold

Nearly at the 100,000 mark.

Slipknot, .5: The Grey Chapter (Roadrunner) #104, 2,850 sold

Perspective: even if life seems difficult, at least you haven’t been stabbed in the head lately (hopefully).

Foo Fighters, Sonic Highways (RCA) #124, 2,500 sold

Only a drop of 1%.

All That Remains, The Order of Things (Razor & Tie) #128, 2,425 sold

At just under 30,000 sold in four weeks, it’s not a particularly tall order.

Steven Wilson, Hand. Cannot. Erase. (Kscope) #137, 2,275 sold

Nearly 20,000 sold.

In This Moment, Black Widow (Atlantic) #158, 1,925 sold

A slight boost of 2% brings this to just under 100,000 sold.

Papa Roach, F.E.A.R. (Eleven Seven) #175, 1,775 sold

Not much change from last week.

The Pretty Reckless, Going To Hell (Razor & Tie) #183, 1,700 sold

Oh hell, this has sold over 158,000.

Enslaved, In Times (Nuclear Blast) 950 sold

Just in time for a second-week 68% drop, which isn’t so terrible.

Motor Sister, Ride (Metal Blade) 910 sold

Also a somewhat modest 49% second-week drop.

Black Star Riders, The Killer Instinct (Nuclear Blast) 710 sold

This instinctually dropped 27%.

Torche, Restarter (Relapse) 690 sold

A very slight drop (7%) has this album selling faster than anything the band’s put out so far.

From Ashes To New, Downfall (Bette Noise) 560 sold

This actually defied a second week drop in favor of a 65% boost.

Revolution Saints, Revolution Saints (Frontiers) 500 sold

A saintly 34% drop.

Sons of Texas, Baptized In The Rio Grande (Razor & Tie) 490 sold

Baptized in a drop of 37%.

Blind Guardian, Beyond The Red Mirror (Nuclear Blast) 430 sold

This has sold over 10,000 in eight weeks.

Oceans Ate Alaska, Lost Isles (Fearless) 420 sold

This only lost 4% in sales.

Like a Storm, Awaken The Fire (Century Media) 410 sold

Fired up over a 30% drop.

Silent Planet, The Night God Slept (Solid State) 400 sold

And God said, “Let there be a 15% drop.”

Ensiferum, One Man Army (Metal Blade) 360 sold

Falls in battle by 20%.

Leviathan, Scar Sighted (Profound Lore) 360 sold

A 15% drop has been sighted.

Amaranthe, Massive Addictive (Spinefarm) 360 sold

A tiny boost of 1%.

Uli Jon Roth, Scorpions Revisited (UDR) 340 sold

Stung by a 45% drop.

Stars In Stereo, Leave Your Mark (Hundred Handed) 300 sold

This gets boosted back up after the band’s performance at South By So What.

Rival Sons, Great Western Valkyrie (Earache) 300 sold

This fell off last week, but with a 35% boost, it’s bacn and has sold over 15,000.

Harm’s Way, Rust (Deathwish) 280 sold

This rusts over fast after an 80% drop.

Napalm Death, Apex Predator – Easy Meat (Century Media) 260 sold

A slight drop of 6%.

Crobot, Something Supernatural (Wind-Up) 260 sold

A 14% drop or something.

Melechesh, Enki (Nuclear Blast) 260 sold

A second week drop of 71%.

Ice Nine Kills, The Predator Becomes the Prey (Outerloop) 250 sold

A 13% drop, but this has sold over 16,500 copies.
