Amplified is a column focusing on small and emerging artists. If your band fits the bill, drop us a line at amplified@metalinsider.net.

If you’ve been with us for a while, you remember Jersey old school death metallers Eye Of The Destroyer. 90s death metal in the classic, Tampa style is one of my all-time favorites, and these guys deliver it in spades – they’re also really prolific for a local band; you can expect at the very least an EP a year, with regular full-lengths on top of that. So, they’ve been due to put out some new material in 2017, and “Electric Chair Erection” delivers. In keeping with their typical sound, this song would sound perfectly at home on a Relapse or Earache compilation from the late 90s; it’s raw as hell and just lo-fi enough to work, to say nothing of the hysterically over the top title. The video has a great, gross VHS quality to it, and mercifully only takes influence from the first half of the song title.

Check out “Electric Chair Erection” below – the band is gearing up to release a new record this summer, so keep an eye out.
