New band Dunsmuir features members of Clutch, Black Sabbath, Fu Manchu

Dunsmuir. The band name, the lineup and a logo is pretty much all we have to go on right now, but it’s certainly promising enough. Over the weekend, news came out about a band with that name featuring Clutch vocalist Neil Fallon, his Company Band guitarist Dave Bone, Fu Manchu bassist Brad Davis and Black Sabbath/Dio drummer Vinny Appice. While the band’s social media was set up in July of last year, and they’ve been talking about the band since at least 2013, for some reason, news of the  band has come up again, which would suggest that they must have something going on.

The band’s name comes from a town in Northern California that was the site of the largest-ever chemical spill in the state after a train derailed and a tank ruptured in the water, killing over a million fish. There’s no word on when the band will be putting out music, or what it will sound like, but Davis updated his Instagram account with the logo this past weekend. And given that lineage, you know it’s going to be pretty good when it finally happens.

New project with me, Dave Bone, Neil Fallon (not pictured) and Vinny Appice. Yes.
