Rob Scallon might be insane. There, we’ve said it. There’s really no other reason why he would cover Spawn of Possession’s “Church of Deviance” on a banjo. It being Halloween tomorrow, he gave this one a horror movie vibe, performing in what looks like a blood-splattered basement. There’s also a ghost that plays slide whistle, a banjo, and a wheelchair. Rob calls it his “most challenging banjo cover yet,” and we’re inclined to agree with him after hearing it. If you’re not a fan of Spawn of Possession, banjo or slide whistle, you’ll probably hate this, but if you enjoy hearing technical death metal deconstructed, then your Halloween has been made.
