Joe HahnWhile Joe Hahn is well known as Linkin Park’s turntablist and programmer, he’s also directed well over 20 of the band’s music videos (not to mention other bands’ videos and short films). However, soon Hahn will be making his full feature debut with the film Mall. And next Thursday (July 24), the film will have an exclusive screening at Zachary Levi and The Nerd Machine’s 5th annual Nerd HQ event in San Diego.

Coinciding with Comic-Con, the screening will take place at San Diego’s Petco Park, immediately following Linkin Park’s performance at the mtvU Fandom Awards. After the screening will be a “Conversations for a Cause” Q&A panel featuring the likes of Hahn, producer Sam Maydew (Silver Lining Entertainment), composer Alec Puro, as well as other cast members.

Adapted from the 2001 Eric Bogosian novel of the same, Mall stars Vincent D’Onofrio (star/producer/screenwriter), Gina Gershon (Killer Joe), Cameron Monaghan (TV’s Shameless), Peter Stormare (Fargo), and James Frecheville (Animal Kingdom). The thriller examines a group of disgruntled suburbanites who find themselves at a shopping mall in the midst of a seemingly random shooting. Mall was picked up by Paragon Pictures earlier this summer, and will be released nationwide this fall following Linkin Park’s Carnivores Tour.
