Earlier this year, Slayer announced that they would be touring with Suicidal Tendencies and Exodus. It was definitely an impressive tour, especially if you’d been into those bands since their rise to fame in the mid-to-late ’80s. Apparently, it worked well enough for everyone involved that they’re going to do it again. The band will be expanding the number of shows they played back in May, since the initial run only included seven shows in the midwest. Of course Gary Holt is pulling double duty, playing in both Slayer and Exodus. Of note is that this will be the first chance to see former vocalist Steve “Zetro” Souza play with the band since 2004. Like Joey Belladonna, he’s returning to the band for the third time. Souza performed in the band when they were at the height of their career, from 1987’s Pleasures of the Flesh through 1992’s Force of Habit.
