Earlier this year, Suicidal Tendencies were set to embark on their latest tour with Megadeth and decided to recruit former Slayer drummer Dave Lombardo to sit behind the kit. Since then, Lombardo and the Suicidal guys have played together, both ends have taken advantage of the situation and it seems like now they’re set to record a new album together.
Suicidal Tendencies recently posted a video of Lombardo nailing some drum tracks in the studio with the caption: “Beating out today’s sermon in the Church of Suicidal, the Godfather of double kick, @davelombardo ! September 2016! You’ve been warned!!! #suicidaltendencies #suicidal #cyco #newrecord #september2016 #straightoutofvenice.”
Honestly, this is a very smart choice for the band. It would be an absolute waste not to recruit someone as talented as Lombardo in their ranks, even if it’s for the recording process. Maybe they decide to keep him as a permanent member but until then, Lombardo will focus on his main band Dead Cross, which will appear on the recently-announced Ozzfest meets Knotfest.
